Sustainability

We don't just care about you, we also care about the planet.

we love the world we're in, and we know how bad for the environment our industry can be, that's why we promise our pieces are as eco-friendly as possible and we want to be totally transparent about it.

The materials we use for every single bit of Rebellium, from fabrics to packaging, have been carefully sourced and selected by us. We try, as much as possible, to work with local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint, the 75% of our suppliers are Europeans, our fabrics and labels come from countries such as Italy, Germany and Spain.

The rest, mainly the packaging, currently comes from Asia and it's due to we can't meet the minimums of some local factories, however, we hope to grow big enough to be able to afford them.

MATERIALS WE USE:

Fabrics

  • Organic cotton: Our Essentials collection is made of this eco-friendly material, which uses no chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides to produce, protecting local habitats and the farmers that grow it. It also uses less water, preserves soil quality, and limits soil erosion.

  • Recycled Polyester and Polyamide: In our Studio collection you will find both of these regenerated and sustainable fabrics, actually made of plastics, some of them bottles rescued from the sea.

Labels

  • Both our label and care label are also made of  100% recycled polyester and polyamide.

  • Our hang tags are made of recycled paper whereas their strings are made of organic cotton and PLA which makes them totally biodegradable.

Packaging

  • PLA (polylactic acid) + PBAT ( (polybutylene adipate terephthalate): There's less plastic in our packaging than in a Kardashian, they are plant-based and are fully compostable, PBAT-based compostable biopolymers will decompose due to the action of microorganisms such as fungi, algae and bacteria, when buried in real soil environments, it breaks down completely and leaves no toxic residues behind.

Elastics

  • Sadly, this is the only part of our products that are totally conventional, the truth is that only a few sustainable elastomers have been developed and currently they don't meet our quality expectations, being a bit unstable and having a rough hand feel.
  • In order to offer you really soft and long-lasting elastics we had to betray our philosophy this time, however, we promise to keep investigating and as soon as a more sustainable option comes up we will switch.
